Just in time for the football season are these delicious protein chocolate square brownies created by Amy's Healthy Baking. The brownies are decorate to look like miniature round footballs and the best part is despite the dessert's sweet taste, these brownies are packed with nutritious ingredients and protein.
Rather than calling for flour or chocolate to bind the brownie mixture together, this recipe cleverly uses pureed black beans as the binder and as an added source of protein. Added to the batter is egg whites, unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, cashew milk and vanilla. Thanks to the addition of cashew milk these brownies are also conveniently dairy-free. Once baked and cooled, the tiny circle brownies are topped with an icing stitching to replicate the aesthetic of a football.
