Chevrolet is rolling out a spooky but irreverent one minute-long Chevrolet trailer during film previews. The spot makes fun of horror flicks and deftly promotes the brand new Chevy Malibu and Cruze vehicles.
While marketing automobile offerings to cinema audiences isn't a new concept altogether, Chevrolet has taken things to the next level by raising the stakes in terms of production values.
The ad makes use of the creative talents of Michigan director Sam Raimi, famous for creating the Evil Dead series of horror movies. The spot shows a woman walking into a haunted house, with frightening sounds and lighting setting the mood. However, the scene then takes a comedic twist as the audience realizes that this is no typical horror flick trailer.
What's great about this Chevrolet trailer is that it makes use of cinematic director talents to reel the audience in and demand their full attention.
