Award-Winning Espresso Blends

Casa Espresso's 'Charlestown Espresso Blend' Has Won National Awards

Casa Espresso is a local roaster in Shipley, United Kingdom, but the humble cafe's 'Charlestown Espresso Blend' has been gaining national attention. Recently, the blend received the Gold Star Great Taste Award for 2017, beating out over 12,000 competitors to secure those top honors.

Charlestown Espresso Blend is a mixture of two different beans. Half the blend is composed of Brazilian Fazenda Santa Barbara beans, which are grown in the region of Campo de Vetentes. The other half is a Sumatran bean called Blue Toba Lintong. Grown at 1,300 to 1,400 meters above sea level, these beans are hydrated by the nearby Lake Toba. The resultant flavor profile has notes of dark chocolate, caramel, and biscuit with a dense body and a syrupy mouthfeel.
