Charles Tzravelyan is an Australian designer who founded the London-based studio that carries his name. The creative’s latest endeavor in the world of furniture embraces nature. Currently exhibited at the Carpenter Workshop Gallery in New York City, the designer’s pebble-like benches and skeletal furnishings are a point of interest for those who look toward the natural and unconventional.
The concept for the ‘Fuse’ seating — a duo of monolithic marble benches, is inspired by Charles Travelyan’s strolls “along the coastline in his native Australia.” His desire of “assembling [surf-rounded pebbles] together” is an example of how a simple concept can become reality. The ‘Fuse’ benches are made with Hotavlje stone. To accompany Charles Travelyan’s monolithic furniture are a number of “delicate bronze tables and lamps.”
