Philippe Maoulin has created what may be the world's first battle-ready carpet in the form of the Chainmail Carpet. The Chainmail Carpet was made using an ancient Japanese technique, which creates a carpet that's both flexible and strong.
The Chainmail Carpet has a unique 3D look that almost makes it look as if it is jumping off of the floor. Creating this carpet was truly a labor of love as each chain was linked together by hand, a process which took a mind-boggling 3,000 hours to finish!
The architects of this artistic torment are the good folks over at the Carwan Gallery in Beirut. You can check out the Chainmail Carpet along with a ton of other innovative and creative carpets here.
