Food Insecurity-Focused Efforts

Carolina Complete Health Partners with Centene Foundation

Carolina Complete Health, in conjunction with the philanthropic Centene Foundation, has successfully allocated two hundred thousand dollars to assist community organizations in North Carolina that focus on providing food access to individuals and families. This financial commitment is directed toward a list of food banks and pantries, as well as ten community health centers. The funding will enable these organizations to supply food directly to their patients.

The thoughtful initiative by Carolina Complete Health and the Centene Foundation is described as a response to heightened challenges in accessing federal nutrition assistance programs and is part of a larger, multi-state funding effort by the parent corporation. Access to nutrition is framed as a fundamental component of overall health outcomes for the vulnerable populations Carolina Complete Health serves.
