Insect-Inspired Yard Structures

The Dragonfly Pavilion From CDR Studio is a Unique Oasis

Placed in a beautiful backyard of a Hoboken townhouse, the Dragonfly Pavilion from CDR Studio is an oasis that was inspired by the intricate wings of the insect.

The elongated rectangular structure was designed to be an outdoor terrace, acting as a connector between the interior to the garden. Each wall is made from unique patterns with geometric detailing that was formed from sustainably harvested Sapele mahogany. All of the metal used in the structure is recycled aluminium, salvaged and collected to use as a sturdy frame. By adding screen inserts the design team ensures an insect-free space that still allows natural light to flow throughout.

With a fitted built-in bench, the Dragonfly Pavilion from CDR Studio can easily transition into a dining room, reading space or yoga studio.
