Tinted Serene Desert Retreats

Mirtilla Alliata di Montereale Designs the Casa Azzurra

Italian architect Mirtilla Alliata di Montereale has just completed the design of the Casa Azzurra. It is located in Joshua Tree and features walls that are tinted with blue shades with the purpose of reflecting the ever-changing desert sky. It overlooks the mountain views from its elevated position. The home is made as a vacation rental unit for groups of friends or families.

The designer speaks about the project, "Casa Azzurra is more than a retreat in Joshua Tree, it's a place designed for connection, inspired by the effortless hospitality of an Italian summer and the vast tranquility of the desert." Alliata di Montereale adds, "Murano glass fixtures, Salvador Dalí prints, and tactile layers of linen, wood and stone create an atmosphere that is elevated and inviting."
