Recycled Plastic Patio Furniture

The 'CARIBE' Series for 'ames' is Both Fun and Functional

Designer Sebastian Herkner has created a collection of playful outdoor furniture pieces for the German brand 'ames' called the 'CARIBE' series.

Taking inspiration from a traditional Caribbean weaving technique called momposino, Herkner created a collection of woven outdoor furniture pieces. Each piece is made using recycled plastic string, woven through powder-coated steel frames. The furniture is made in Colombia in small factories by craftsmen who are experts in this traditional weaving technique. The pieces come in bold color combinations that act as a secondary point of reference to the region of inspiration -- the Caribbean.

The CARIBE series includes a dining chair, a lounger chair, a two-seater lounge, a vis-à-vis bench, a dining table, a high table, a low table, and a basket table. All of the pieces come in a several vibrant and summer-colorways.
