The Cargo Unmanned Air System (Cargo UAS) is a drone, still under development, that aims to well and truly stand out among other cargo-carrying drones. The highlight of this particular drone is that it will be able to carry as much as 60 kg of payload. The developers aim to eventually build a production unmanned aerial vehicle that will be able to carry up to 400 kg.
The Cargo Unmanned Air System's design includes basic landing skids and an open frame platform that makes it easier for ground crew to load and unload payloads. It is also equipped with shock absorbers to take care of unforeseen bumpy landings that could damage the payload.
The drone's developers believe it could be used to deliver packages as well as food, water, medical supplies and emergency equipment.
