Using NVIDIA’s open-source StyleGAN software, BMW created vinyl car wraps for eight 8 Series models. The artificial intelligence was equipped with 50,000 images to cover 900 years of art history, plus a curated collection of 50 pieces from BMW’s artist collaborators from the past half-century. What the AI created represents a unique mix of classic and contemporary styles.
The Ultimate AI Masterpiece virtual installation turns BMW models into the canvas for AI-created masterpieces, some of which are achromatic and others that are boldly splashed with a range of colors and patterns.
The vinyl wraps launched with Frieze New York 2021 will be shown at the art fair, offering a glimpse into the future of art and product creation.
