Prismatic Dining Tables

This Cantilevered Table Offers Creative Spatial Solutions

Parisian design firm Atelier JMCA helped a restaurant optimize its limited space by designing a cantilevered table in the shape of a prism.

The prism cantilevers over the edge of the bar and/or service area, stretching into a versatile and fully functional counter/bar/dining table. Long and slender, the table offers an inventive solution to the problem of restricted space. Moreover, the prismatic shape is especially unusual within the context of a dining table, making it all the more visually appealing. Fashioned from light-colored wood, the counter offers a nice contrast against the restaurant's dark tile flooring.

Playing with unexpected shapes and silhouettes can not only be spatially responsible, it also visually engages the interest of the patrons inside the eatery.
