Canadian Tire created a short commercial that pays tribute to the Canadian Olympic team in light of the Rio 2016 summer games.
While the ad is only 30 seconds long, it instills its viewers with a sense of what Canadians value. Canadian Tire does this by depicting a variety of people standing up on their own podium, suggesting that each has a role in making the nation greater. This includes medical workers, a family of Syrian refugees, forest fighters, veterans and a representation of the Canadian Olympic team at the end.
The company includes the hashtag #StandUpTall along with the ad as well, again telling its viewers to be proud of the connection they bare to a peaceful, inclusive and hardworking country.
