This newly build modern Californian home by American firm Field Architecture is designed to complement the warmth and greenery of the majestic oak trees and local flora and fauna. The structure is situated just south of San Francisco and cleverly named 'Forty-One Oaks,' matching the exact number of trees on the property.
The owners of the space—a retired couple that is fond of photography—requested that their new Californian home be seamlessly extended and balanced within the natural environment. To comply with this, Field Architecture created a minimalist geometrical abode with a flat roof and a mixed-use material technique, integrating cedar, concrete and floor-to-ceiling glass panels in perfect harmony.
