Sushi can no longer be considered a fad in the Western world, and so it is only natural that Americans would eventually put their own twist on the Japanese dish; enter the California Roll Sushi Cake. It is a surprisingly easy meal to make and maintains the healthy ingredients that make such meals so appealing.
Created by Brandi Milloy of Popsugar, the California Roll Sushi Cake boasts all of the usual suspects found in sushi rolls including brown rice, crab meat, avocado, and cucumber. The inclusion of cherry tomatoes and micro greens are used simply for decoration. To get the shape of the California Roll Sushi Cake, two standard cylinder plastic containers are used. The first is to layer the ingredients inside while the second helps pack down each one.
