Instagram is an essential tool for many businesses, and so the company is planning on rolling out new business tools to help companies more effectively use the social media platform.
Many different industries rely on imagery to present their products, from restaurants to clothing stores to fitness studios and more, and the immensely popular image-sharing app is a perfect avenue for engaging with current and potential customers. The issue is that the current Instagram accounts for businesses are very similar to normal user accounts, making it difficult to engage with users in the most effective way.
The new business tools on Instagram will include free business profiles that include things like contact information (rather than contacting business via the comments on an image, as was the case previously.) The business profiles will also have the option to promote popular posts directly instead of creating new promotional posts and hoping they perform well.
