Facebook Has Started a Bug Bounty Program for the Libra Crypto

Facebook is developing a bug bounty program for its upcoming cryptocurrency titled Libra. In order to start the bug bounty program, Facebook is collaborating with HackerOne. The program is currently offering $10,000 for anyone who can identify vulnerabilities on the Libra testnet.

Because Libra is a cryptocurrency, security is a top concern. People will not adopt the use of the currency if there are security vulnerabilities. Facebook is launching the bug bounty program before Libra is released in order to flush out any problems that may arise. Additionally, bug bounty programs are an efficient way for companies to find vulnerabilities. This is because they outsource the search for vulnerabilities in an open source way, allowing many people to search simultaneously for potential holes in security.
