Pilot PMR Creates a Tongue-in-Cheek Video to Connect with Clients

Branded documentary is a new style of cinematic storytelling that's emerging to help companies connect with audiences who crave truth, originality and credibility.

In an homage to legendary French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard, Toronto-based agency Pilot PMR released a branded documentary to showcase this craft at its best. The two-minute clip features agency CEO David Doze and creative director Stuart Inglis describing how branded documentary film challenges the conventions of PR, advertising and marketing. Pilot PMR timed its branded documentary release to coincide with the huge retrospective of Godard's work put on this year by the Toronto International Film Festival.

These short, strategic films are now being produced by the likes of politicians (Stephen Harper, Pauline Marois) to media organizations (GQ) and corporations (IBM).
