Get a glimpse of the BÖRD Lamp from one of several angles and you'll really wonder what purpose it serves. There are two versions of the contemporary illuminator -- a desk lamp and a floor lamp -- and neither one makes its light-up feature the focus.
Olli Mustikainen's design was inspired by a bird with its erect neck and its tiny little beak. It sits on a round and flat base for stability, becoming a very abstract and industrial 3D caricature of a feathered creature. The body of the BÖRD Lamp is a long cylindrical shaft, and this is accented with a small tubular protrusion at the top. Light is emitted from the latter as an intense and direct beam.
