There is now a new wild and wacky way for your computer to identify you thanks to Bootstrapper shoe recognition. This device allows for special computers to recognize users by monitoring their shoes. The foot-friendly invention may have its flaws, but it demonstrates where society is heading with technology.
The Bootstrapper shoe recognition program will be fully unveiled at the CHI 2012 conference being held in Austin, Texas, in May 2012. According to early reports, the device has accumulated an 89% accuracy level, which is sure to improve as the software receives some fine-tuning.
What would be really interesting is when they fully integrate gesture technology with the various upgraded body-recognition to create an entirely secure computer that recognizes users, and requires no actual touching.
