Adidas' 'BOOST the Nation' campaign is combining the world's of fashion and sports with a patriotic bent. The apparel company has tasked 10 female designers with creating a series of 50 patterns for the Ultraboost sneaker — one design for every state in the US.
Each of the ten chosen artists was assigned five states, and they had to remake the all-white Adidas Ultraboost to represent the particularities of their charges. Some of the results are visually pleasing in the own right, while others make explicit and tongue-in-cheek references to the states in question. The New Jersey shoe, for example, has a leather slice of pizza sewn onto it, and the Maine sneaker is pink with an embossed lobster claw.
