Thai Culture Preservation Restaurants

Boonserm Premthada Preserved Ayutthaya Culinary Traditions

Boonserm Premthada, an architect, affiliated with the Bangkok Project Studio architectural firm, conceived a Thai restaurant to support and preserve Ayutthaya community traditions. The Ayutthaya region now fosters The Artisans Ayutthaya: The Women Restaurant. Located a short ride north of Bangkok, the restaurant uses the culinary traditions of the region.

Founded in the 14th century, the City of Ayutthaya was once the capital of the Kingdom of Siam. The local cuisine is now available to visitors at the women-ran restaurant. The building's design stays true to the cuisine's natural and simplistic style. Constructed from elevated leftover and commonly found materials, the restaurant serves nutritious and home-cooked meals. Bordering the riverbank, the angular restaurant complex boasts 310 square meters.
