"Most people don’t know that regular chewing gum is made of single-use plastic and isn’t compostable," says Keir Carnie, founder of Nuud, "We want to tackle this and effect a wholescale change in behavior when it comes to chewing gum."

The brand approaches this in a fun and engaging way with a product that's made from sustainably harvested tree sap chicle. According to the brand, its product decomposes as quickly as a banana peel, which has the potential to save millions of dollars from being invested into cleaning up the streets of dried-up gum.

Central to the brand's mission is the sentiment that people should "chew plants, not plastic!"
