Santa Monica, California teenager Benji Miller combined his love for biking with the smartphone affinity common for people his age to create a bicycle smartphone mount and speaker holder.
While bicycle smartphone mounts and handlebar-mounted speakers are not new, the Allo is unique in that it combines the two into one easy-to-manage unit. It is designed to minimize the extent to which cyclists need to take their eyes off the road to access smartphone functions such as call-making, maps and music.
The Allo comes in especially handy for cyclists who need on-the-go directions and navigational assistance, as it can announce the turns that need to be made and display the route on screen. The speaker holder allows cyclists to listen to music without having to wear headphones, which can often drown out traffic noise and pose a danger on the road.
