The groundbreaking, plant-based Beyond Meat burger patties were first introduced in 2016 as a first-of-their-kind product to compete with real meat and be sold in the meat department of stores. Now, Beyond Meat is introducing a new version of its popular protein-packed, plant-powered burger patties that are touted as being "meatier" than ever.

Beyond Meat's innovative plant-based patties are now well-known for their ability to "bleed" like a real burger and now they are enhanced with a marbling effect that imitates the fat found in a real meat patty. As well as featuring plant-based fats like coconut oil and cocoa butter for this effect, the new and improved Beyond Meat burger patties now quickly transform from a fresh red color to a deep brown during cooking and are also described as having a "differentiated bite" that makes some pieces of the burger harder to chew than others.
