This Beautiful Cake Design Mimics Natural Rocks with Sweets

Although this beautiful cake design might look as though it has implemented with an actual geode, the reality is that it is nothing short of completely edible and delicious.

Crafted by Rachael of Intricate Icings, the geode cake was created to celebrate the launch of First Look Events at the event venue Moss Denver. Mimicking the aesthetic of an amethyst geode, the cake design is deliciously crafted using rock candy, granulated sugar and modeling chocolate.

The geode is set within a fondant-covered cake that was then finished with a series of hand-painted portions and a hefty amount of gold leaf. In all, the final result of the beautiful cake design is one that looks almost too good to eat; although it's quite certainly delicious.
