Billboard Beard Burger Ads

The New A&W ‘Beardvertising’ Campaign is Both Hairy and Hil

A&W Restaurants found a clever way to advertise its restaurants that is both witty and interactive: ‘beardvertising.'

The technique of ‘beardvertising’ is exactly what it sounds like. Men with big, burly beards can now be paid $5 a day by A&W and its advertising agency Cornett-IMS to wear a small billboard clipped to their majestic facial locks.

Whit Hiler of Cornett-IMS has said the agency has already received tons of e-mails from men asking to be ‘beardvertisers,’ declaring that beard advertising is the next big thing.

With this clever new approach to advertising A&W has found a way to get its brand name into conversations around North America. By integrating its campaign with humor and popular fads, A&W has related to young people everywhere and ensured that ‘beardvertising’ goes viral.
