BBC America is releasing a new season of the popular Sci-Fi series, 'Doctor Who,' along with a new ad for the show. The ad aired on January 1st and it featured an AR experience, where viewers were able to scan a QR code to see virtual images from the new season. Additionally, the AR ad contained the time machine from the series. BBC America also showcased its AR add at an exclusive screening, which took place on January 5th.
The AR ad is an interactive way to engage fans of the series ahead of the new season. Especially since it did not require viewers to download a third-party app, which simplified the experience for fans.
