Sculptural Furniture Collection

Mary Ratcliffe Studio expands the Barrow Collection with a sculptural furniture series that builds on the original dining table design. The new pieces include a bench, side tables, and a mirror, all carrying forward the signature balance of curved and faceted geometry. Each work is crafted in blackened oak and explores the dialogue between mass and lightness through precise forms and repeating angles. Drawing on coopering techniques that have been used for centuries, the studio transforms woodworking into a language of minimalist sculpture and functional design.

Technical innovation is central to the collection, achieved through hollow-core construction that allows dramatic yet stable cuts. The Barrow Bench features a subtle angled contour to increase comfort, while the side tables integrate cantilevered marble tops that emphasize negative space. The Barrow Mirror translates the collection’s geometry into a vertical piece that echoes the faceted forms. Collectively, the works highlight a refined approach that merges craft, architecture, and sculptural presence.
