The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Defense Radiant Tint Protective Moisturizer is a new skincare product that specifically addresses the damages of excessive blue light exposure. As blue light is emitted from a range of digital device screens, research shows that this is another environmental aggressor that leads to premature ageing.

As bareMinerals' Laura Garrett, Vice President Global Product Development, says: "Scientific research has shown that blue light generates oxidative stress at 410 and 420nm, but this is still an inconclusive topic in the scientific community," and notes "Even though the effects of blue-light continue to be investigated, we did not want to wait on addressing how to help protects consumers from this."

One of the key ingredients in the protective moisturizer is cacao that is sustainably sourced from Peru, which has shown to be beneficial for shielding the skin from the potential damages of blue light and oxidative stress.

Since the idea of blue light protection is still fairly new to many consumers, it is being introduced through familiar sunscreen and skincare formats.
