Galeries Lafayette is a French department store that is aiming to make the bag shopping process more convenient for consumers with new smart kiosks in its La Rochelle and Cannes stores.

These digital showroom stations make it possible for consumers to place handbags with attached NFC tags on a table in order to call up information on the product via the Galeries Lafayette website, showing other colorawys and models, as well as checkout options. Those with an existing Galeries Lafayette account have the ability to checkout instantly by logging in and using the built-in Ingenico payment terminal. Customers have the option to have their purchases delivered to their home or a local store the next day.

Galeries Lafayette is calling this new kiosk a "web-in-store" experience.
