Maximalist Chandelier Designs

The Baccarat x Harry Nuriev Collaboration is Stunning

The Baccarat x Harry Nuriev collaboration delivers a limited series of artistic works in which the designer reinterprets several of the historic French crystal manufacturer's iconic objects, including the Zénith chandelier and the Harcourt glass.

The Zénith chandelier — a prime example of Baccarat's legacy of flawless, high-craft crystal — was first introduced around 1850. Harry Nuriev's artistic approach involves integrating mundane, everyday items like pens, jewelry, CDs, bottle caps, keychains, and other objects into the chandelier's crystalline structure. The resulting maximalist piece is certainly jarring and awe-inspiring. The reinterpreted Harcourt glass, on the other hand, boasts engraved words and symbolic patterns applied through the maison's traditional gilding and enameling techniques.

The Baccarat x Harry Nuriev project is framed as a conceptual exploration of memory, repurposing, and a speculative future where such luxurious materials may no longer exist.
