In the world of sculptural lighting designs, Bocci is making yet another splash. The Vancouver-based multidisciplinary design studio recently unveiled two exquisite lighting silhouettes — the 141 pendant and the 14 Pyramid — to mark its 20th anniversary.
Under the creative direction of Omer Arbel, the 141 represents a shift toward simplicity and spontaneity in the studio’s design process. Created by pouring molten glass over a curved rod, the 141 features an organic, freeform shape that captures the unpredictability of the process. The pendant is illuminated by a matte nickel hardware component. Designed to be hung individually or in clusters, the 141 showcases Bocci’s signature embrace of experimentation and the beauty of unintended outcomes.
The second of the sculptural lighting designs — the 14 Pyramid — reimagines Bocci’s iconic 14 light. Developed in collaboration with David Alhadeff of The Future Perfect, this new configuration explores geometric possibilities and dynamic compositions.
