Wave-Powered Autonomous Boats

The AutoNaut Efficiently Harnesses the Energy of Ocean Waves

The AutoNaut is an innovative and high-tech autonomous boat that is designed to be powered not through conventional fuels or even battery power, but by harnessing the power of ocean waves.

What's more, this autonomous boat can also be constructed using hybrid drive or electric systems, and can be made in sizes ranging from two to seven meters in length. The AutoNaut is set to be used by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology for oceanography research projects, where it will be utilized to better understand the natural environment of the oceans.

While boats typically struggle to navigate waves, the AutoNaut takes the opposite approach by using the power and energy of waves to assist its operation, making it a great example of an automotive breakthrough made possible by harnessing the power of natural elements.
