Looking like sculptures or art installations, these artistic hairstyles of Nigerian women are stunning and intricately detailed.
Captured by Nigerian photographer J.D. Okhai Ojeikere, the 'Hairstyles' photo series has over 1,000 different artistic hairstyles of women. The photographer captured these women on the street, at their workplace and even at fancy parties and weddings to show viewers how Nigerian women expressed their individually and creativity with their hair.
The black and white shots taken mostly of the back of women's head to showcase the intricate styles almost makes them look like vintage portraits from another era highlighting a cultural tradition.
Ojeikere's series is epic in its magnitude which shows how proud the photographer feels to showcase this cultural tradition from his country.
