With a comic-inspired art exhibition, Bombay Sapphire promotes its artist-celebrating Artisan Series, while showcasing never-before-seen artworks by Canadian alt-pop musician Lights. 'Skin & Earth' consists of 15 sizable artworks and it is the singer/songwriter's debut as a visual artist.
Lights has taken upon herself to branch off into the world of graphic novels. With a meticulous approach to storytelling and a skillful technical style of drawing, the main protagonist Enaia Jin is a girl "caught between romance and cults, gods and mortals, and just trying to find a good borscht." The setting is in a post-apocalyptic future and is accompanied with a 14-track corresponding album.
The initative is done in partnership with Bombay Sapphire's Artisan Series — a competition that is dedicated to supporting visual artists in North America.
