Art-Inspired Brick Builds

BrickRelativity Turns Dalí’s Melting Watches Into a LEGO Ideas Diorama

BrickRelativity turned Salvador Dalí’s ‘The Persistence of Memory’ into a LEGO Ideas diorama for LEGO art fans, lifting the image off the canvas with a base, plaque and a Dalí minifigure at an easel. The project keeps the beach, tree and sagging watches legible in three dimensions rather than a flat mosaic.

The original painting measures 9.5 by 13 inches, but this version expands with layered sky bands and curved brickwork for the sleeping figure. Three melting clocks use different building techniques, including a pearl-silver drip on the tree watch and bent tile seams on the gold watch face.

On LEGO Ideas, the build has 1,849 supporters, and projects that hit 10,000 votes enter official review. BrickRelativity shows how that supporter system can turn museum-inspired sets into a co-creation test, letting LEGO gauge demand for art-led display builds before pursuing licensing.
