Brick Balloon Sculptures

The Balloon Dog Mk II Reimagines a Pop-Art Icon in LEGO Bricks

The Balloon Dog Mk II is a 1,026-piece fan-designed model submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform by independent creator brxstr. Inspired by Jeff Koons' iconic balloon sculpture, the display build measures approximately 15 inches long and 12.5 inches tall. Its rounded form is achieved using curved windscreen elements introduced in 2024, paired with concealed Technic components that create a smooth exterior while preserving the characteristic seams of an inflated balloon.

The removable upper section reveals a detailed interior depicting the sculpture as a pressurized industrial vessel. Inside, minifigures operate a gas cylinder with gauges, piping, and control valves, while miniature LEGO balloon dog accessories are displayed as part of the scene. The designer also proposes future color variants based on the original series of balloon sculptures.
