The Armadillo by Cyclehoop Increases Safety for Road Cyclists
Meghan Young — January 31, 2014 — Lifestyle
The Armadillo by Cyclehoop is a cycle lane separator that could very well save the lives of cyclists around the world. Even with a designated cycle lane, drivers tend to swerve in front of cyclists when making a right hand turn or attempting to bypass a slower driver. The Armadillo by Cyclehoop will provide a rude awakening for those who think they can cross over when it benefits them.
Taking on the form of the hard-shelled animal it is named after, the Armadillo by Cyclehoop is available in three sizes. Made out of 100% recycled PVC and covered in reflective stripes, they were tested in London's Camden borough last year, which resulted in an overall positive response. Most excitingly, it was noted that cycling traffic increased while cars speed slowed down.
