Panera Bread launched AR ads, where users are able to play with their food to learn about the ingredients and nutritional facts of menu items. The AR ads are only available on mobile devices, and they were created to increase transparency surrounding food items. The ads will run across multiple platforms, however, the company worked with Bleacher Report for a more customized ad experience.
The AR ads were created with QReal, which is a company that focuses on AR advertising.
Panera Bread indicated that it will use information from this ad campaign to inform future ventures. The Panera Bread VP of marketing, Scott Nelson, spoke on the new ads, "This is an entertaining piece of content, but it is useful, purposeful and helps us continue to push on overall category innovation."
