Mixed-Reality Burrito Ads

Chipotle Launches Unique Jumbotron Activation During NHL Game

Quick-serve Mexican chain Chipotle teamed up with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche to launch an innovative advertising campaign. The new campaign centered around a mixed reality commercial that played on the team's Jumbotron during one of their playoff games.

The unique ad spot leveraged technology created by The Famous group to create the illusion that a massive burrito bowl and Chiptoloe-branded Zamboni had entered the rink. Guests watched as the burrito bowl and Zmboni skated around the ice until suddenly a large hand broke through the rink and grabbed the bowl.

The playful new ad spot builds on Chiptole's recent virtual-reality focused campaigns, which have included a few unique Roblox activations. Overall, it is clear the company is making efforts to be at the forefront of Web3 marketing opportunities.
