American Optical launched its new Original Pilot Glasses, which are essentially a new and exact replica of the Apollo 11 sunglasses. It is defined by a 23k gold-plated frame and holds green scratch-resistant SkyMaster Polarized CR30 lenses that are squared off along the sides. Other details include the bayonet-style along the temples that are added as a means to reduce any interference with helmets originally.
The new glasses are constructed to meet a military-grade precision standard, promising not to shatter when they are dropped. To keep the glasses even safer, it comes in a replica of the original case as well. The historic and refreshed design is now available to shop online at Huckberry for $250.
