At first glace, would you have been able to guess that the Aplomb Large lamp is made from concrete? Probably not. The manufacturing technique behind this suspended ceiling light is a highly specialized one that results in an unlikely lampshade that's less delicate than you might expect.
Studio Lucidi & Pevere has designed this light fixture as a companion to its first Aplomb lamp, which takes an entirely different shape. This new Foscarini product is as flat as a plate for the most minimalist profile one can imagine. The material has been cast such that it retains its porous texture and expresses one of three earthy hues to suit its intended contemporary interior. The Aplomb discus is fitted with an LED light source within its slim design, illuminating in a much wider field than it assumes itself.
