Amazon Music is Transitioning into an Ad-Supported Platform

Amazon Music will now be free to all, as it will now transition into a platform supported through ads. Previously, Amazon Music was only available as a subscription-based streaming service, but now users in the US, the UK and Germany will have access to the service for free.

Amazon Music contains thousands of hours of content, where users can filter between artists, song genres and more. Moving into an advertising business model could entice more users to the platform, as consumers do not have to pay to listen. This could help it compete with other prominent streaming services that support themselves through subscription services.

Amazon Music is available for iOS, Android, as well as FireTV devices, however it previously was only compatible with Amazon Echo devices.
