California-based startup company Opener contributes to the ever-developing automotive world with BlackFly — an all-electric flying car. The single-seat vehicle is advertised to be "[a] fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing aircraft" that does not require a driving license nor any "special skills." Of course, potential drivers will face a formally written FAA Private Pilot exam.
The innovative automobile is designed by Opener to be ultralightweight and relatively noiseless which satisfies some of the needs and restrictions that are raised by heavily populated cities. In addition, Opener aims to "offer competitive pricing in an endeavor to democratize three-dimensional personal transportation." With a travel capacity of 25 miles and a 62 m/h top speed, the all-electric flying car will boast a Super Charging option that promises to have the vehicle ready to fly in half an hour.
