Car pooling is a great way to not only decrease a dependency on public transit, but also a great way to spend time with others and Car Poolers by Alejandro Cartagena depicts those grabbing a lift in the back of a pickup truck.

Based out of Los Angeles, Cartagena's set of shots are a funny, birds eye view of what a trip might look like if the rider were in the back of a pickup and taking a little nap.

At first glance, these snaps might seem faked, but the photographer actually set his camera atop a freeway and snapped trucks that drove by. What was captured was a little troubling, but also a little bit funny and raised concerns regarding those who are putting themselves at risk to get around.
