The 'From Here to There' project by Alec Soth has been in the works for over a decade. Soth has been trekking across the U.S. taking pictures of regular citizens in order to capture the true meaning of the stars and stripes.

The series has an indie feel to it, with non-model subjects and organically real scenery in each photograph. Some of the shots Alec Soth takes are strange, while others are humorous or emotionally charged.

Alec Soth has referred to the project as "we surfing in the real world," as he gets a brief glimpse of all sorts of regular people.
