The Aegis Parka Will Warn You of Hazardous Air Quality

With the Aegis Parka in your wardrobe, you can now avoid dangerous urban pollutants that affect air quality. The Aegis Parka, designed by Nieuwe Heren, is an innovative piece of outerwear that uses sensors to detect the existence of common pollutants, including Benzene, CO2 and NH3, and will warn you when pollutants reach a dangerous level.

Attached to the Aegis Parka is an LED display; when harmful pollution exists around you, the LED display will light up. But warning you of dangerous air quality isn't the only function of the parka -- it also includes a carbon-filter respirator that you can put on to avoid inhaling the bad air.

According to Fashioning Tech, the parka is treated with a TiO2 solution that filters air and constructed from hi-tech fabric that is created from ceramic particles and PCM™, a textile that contains millions of microcapsules filled with Phase Change Materials (PCM).
