Realistic Painting Apps

Adobe Fresco Mimics the Way Different Kinds of Paints Work in Real Life

App stores are full of digital painting programs that can be used to unleash one's creativity but Adobe Fresco, the newest drawing and painting app from Adobe, promises to set itself apart as one of the most innovative yet. To create an ultra-realistic way for painters, illustrators and other creators to make the most of the app, Adobe's scientists studied the chemistry of different kinds of pigments to observe nuances like the way oil paints blend thickly or watercolors are absorbed by paper. These insights led to the creation of Live Brushes, which combine with Adobe's AI Sensei to create stunning results.

According to Adobe, "With an oil Live Brush, you can slather on a thick coat of paint and see the ridges and brush strokes that give the painting dimension. And you can mix different oil colors together to create a varied swirl of color that no digital color wheel could ever provide."
