Absolut Vodka recently launched a Rock Edition complete with leather casing and biker-style studs.
Absolut Rock, which was designed in collaboration with a design team at Family Business, was launched on Monday in Berlin. The limited edition bottle was complemented by work from rock and roll photographer Danny Clinch and rock band Wolfmother for the full rock and roll appeal.
Implications - Established companies often offer special edition products in an attempt to remain relevant and exciting in the mind of a consumer. This also helps meet the increasingly particular demands of each consumer group, giving room for an organization to experiment in tailoring their product to a new niche demographic apart from their staple consumer group.
